Our 2025 season lineup of internationally recognized artists from around the world
Sohui Yun, viola
Korean violist SoHui Yun is an acclaimed chamber musician and soloist, performing across the U.S., Asia, and Europe. She won first prize at the 2022 Washington International Competition, along with awards from the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and Sungjung Music Competition. Recent highlights include solo recitals in Washington DC, Chicago, and Seoul, and a concerto performance at the Staller Center. As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with artists like
Miriam Fried, Tabea Zimmermann, Marcy Rosen, and Steven Isserlis, and served as a Faculty Artist at the Anchorage Music Festival. She has performed at international festivals such as Ravinia, Music@Menlo, and Tongyeong.

SoHui earned her bachelor’s degree from Korea National University of Arts and completed studies at NEC, Curtis, and SFCM. She is pursuing her doctorate at Stony Brook University, where she was a teaching assistant, and is on the faculty at Korea National University of Arts.


Tong Chen, violin
Praised for “playing deep down from his heart” by Itzhak Perlman, Shanghai-born violinist Tong Chen is an accomplished soloist and chamber musician. He has won top prizes at the Hong Kong International Violin Competition (2nd), Vancouver International Music Competition (3rd), and was a finalist in the Ysaye International Violin Competition and the 2024 Queen Elisabeth Competition. An avid chamber musician, Tong has worked closely with members of the Borromeo, Juilliard, Brentano, Doric, and Belcea quartets, and performed with Ida Kavafian, Colin Carr, and Anthony Marwood, among others. He has appeared at festivals including Verbier, Yellow Barn, Norfolk, and Prussia Cove. Tong earned his Bachelor, Master’s, and Graduate Diploma from New England Conservatory under Miriam Fried, Paul Biss, and Donald Weilerstein. He is currently pursuing a DMA at Stony Brook University (SUNY) with Philip Setzer and Jennifer Frautschi.
Connor Kim, cello
Cellist Connor Kim is a member of the Hesper Quartet, and has performed with world- renowned artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Roger Tapping, and Atar Arad. is adventures have given him opportunities to perform at a wide variety of venues such as Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall and Stern Auditorium, Alice Tully Hall, David Geffen Hall, Bing Concert Hall, Temple Beth El, Helsinki's Musiikkitalo, Davies Symphony Hall, Disney Hall, Hwang In Young's MusicSpace Camerata, the Seoul Arts Center, Jeju Arts and Culture Center, WOXR's Greene Space, and Brooklyn's Bargemusic. Festival appearances include Ravinia Steans Music Insitute, Music®Menlo, Kneisel Hall, the Periman Music Program, the Kronberg Academy Cello Masterclasses, and IMS Prussia Cove. Connor completed both his Bachelors and Masters degrees at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick and Timothy Eddy with a full scholarship. He is currently serving as a faculty assistant for Joel Krosnick, and just completed his Artist Diploma studies at Juilliard.


Shu Wen Tay, piano
Praised for her “beautiful sound” (Arnaldo Cohen) and “wonderful fingerwork” (Lars Vogt), Singaporean pianist Shu Wen Tay enjoys a multi-faceted identity as a musician. Equally at home as a solo pianist and chamber musician, Shu Wen has performed widely in Europe, Singapore and the United States, taking part in competitions including the Madrid International Piano Competition 2023 and the 70th Maria Canals Piano Competition 2025. She has had the privilege of working with members of the Cleveland and Borromeo String Quartets, especially during her Master of Music studies at the New England Conservatory of Music. Having an avid interest in music outside of the Classical canon, her ventures have included dabbling in early music, in performances with Red Dot Baroque (Singapore), as well as concerts with the Boston New Music Initiative. This July, Shu Wen will attend the YellowBarn Music Festival. She credits current and prior musical mentors including Gilbert Kalish, Vivian Weilerstein and Albert Tiu for her growth and development.
Eric Tsai, violin
Eric Tsai is an up and coming Taiwanese-American violinist whose playing has been described as both “dashing” and “heart-wrenching," and whose thoughtful performances has earned him a place on stages across the globe. The 2nd prize winner of the 2019 Michael Hill International Violin competition, Eric has garnered critical acclaim as a soloist and chamber player, as well as a champion of music from his home country of Taiwan. Wherever he performs, Eric is deeply committed to spreading hope and light to audiences around the world through his art. Throughout the pandemic, his quartet partnered with Taiwan Connection to bring music to under-served communities across Taiwan, and he has also participated in other community engagement projects across New York and Philadelphia.
Eric's mentors include Hagai Shaham, Catherine Cho, Ida Kavafian, and Shmuel Ashkenasi; he received degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School and is currently pursuing his doctorate at Stony Brook University as a Staller Fellow.
